Veronica Ryan: The Weather Inside II
Opening Saturday 30th May, in the 25th year of Mount Stuart Trust's Contemporary Visual Arts Programme, Veronica Ryan will present her new exhibition The Weather Inside II. The work will include reflections on the materiality of Mount Stuart house and its contents and will also see Ryan interrogating lineage through considerations of family histories.
Ryan's sculptural practice embraces the hand-made and domestic as conduits for memory as well as examining collecting practices, colonialism and climate change within natural, found objects. The work will also look at the context of the Isle of Bute, with its limits created by the sea, and take inspiration from the gardens at Mount Stuart.
On Sunday 31st May at 10am, Veronica will join Director of our Contemporary Visual Arts Programme, Sophie Crichton Stuart, in conversation to discuss her work and the themes that inform this exhibition.
