Weddings at Mount Stuart

Described in 1911 as ‘perhaps the most magnificent private sanctuary in the country’, Mount Stuart’s Marble Chapel provides an awe-inspiring setting for that most important of days.

Lined with the finest white Italian marble and crowned with a magnificent lantern, the chapel was scene to the most eagerly awaited society wedding of 1928, that of Lady Jean Crichton-Stuart, daughter of the 4th Marquess of Bute – said to have been the first wedding at Mount Stuart in 200 years.

Such was the interest in the event that a national newspaper actually hired an aeroplane to rush wedding photographs from Bute to London in order to ‘scoop’ their rivals and be the first to feature the event. Today, our commitment is to ensure that your big day is every bit as special. Few places can match Mount Stuart for the magnificence of its surroundings or its scale for larger weddings, but, with our range of options, we can also provide an undoubted intimacy should you desire something smaller. Whatever you choose discretion and privacy is guaranteed.

The house itself offers the ideal location for your entire day including; ceremony locations both internal and external, preparation spaces, and the breathtaking Marble Hall for the wedding breakfast & evening reception. To complete the package, we also offer accommodation in authentically styled luxurious bedrooms.
