Shop and Eat at Mount Stuart
The Courtyard Cafe
At the main Courtyard Cafe, you can enjoy hot and cold drinks, freshly made sandwiches, soups and bakes including haggis sausage rolls. For those with a sweeter tooth, we have a tempting selection of biscuits, cakes and scones.
We use locally produced and Mount Stuart garden produce where possible and in season, and are proud to work with Scottish producers including Isle of Mull Seaweed. We use their Seaweed chutney in our delicious new Cheese & Seaweed scones, freshly baked in the Mount Stuart kitchen.
Open from 10am - 4pm on house opening days. Seating is available inside the Cafe and outside in the Courtyard itself.
The Courtyard Pantry
In our new space, you can buy Scottish produced hand scooped ice-cream, hot and cold drinks and snacks to take-away. It is stocked with a considered selection of items to buy including books, homewares, candles and cards. A cosier space with very limited seating, it’s ideal for those who are on the move or with dogs.
The Courtyard Pantry is open from 11.30am to 3pm on house opening days.
Local & Fairtrade Suppliers
Our suppliers include our very own Mount Stuart Kitchen Garden team, who's wonderful produce when - in season - we use for our cafe. We are proud to serve Fairtrade coffee from Scottish based company Coffee Conscience, whose philosophy is that every cup makes a difference by delivering social, environmental and community responsibility. Coffee Conscience are passionate about Fairtrade coffee and the environment, and a percentage of their sales goes back into local community projects.
Special Dietaries and Allergens
Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free options are available. For example, the soup served in our Courtyard Cafe is always vegan and gluten free. Our cafe team will be happy to provide specific allergen information on request. Please be aware that all foods served on site may contain traces of nuts.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome in our outdoor seating area in the Courtyard and surrounding areas.

The Courtyard Pantry
The Courtyard Pantry, Family Entrance and Round-house shops offer a thoughtfully curated selection of unique gifts, crafts, and homewares, all with a distinctly Scottish twist.
We’re passionate about championing local creativity and are proud to support talented makers and artists from across the Isle of Bute and beyond. In particular, we’re delighted to collaborate with the Isle of Bute Artists’ Collective (IBAC). Our shops feature a wonderful range of gifts from IBAC members, each bringing their own distinctive style and craftsmanship alongside an exclusive collection of Mount Stuart souvenirs, books, cards and bags.
