With an outstanding collection of British portraiture, 16th century Italian masterpieces, and Dutch and Flemish Old Masters, there are also exceptional pieces of furniture, silver, tapestry, textiles, porcelain and ceramics. Housed within spectacular Victorian Gothic Revival architecture, the nineteenth century historic interiors have been decorated by eminent designers H.W. Lonsdale, Nathaniel Westlake, William Burges, Robert Weir Schultz, and Thomas Nicholls.
