Linder
Co-commissioned by EAF (Edinburgh Art Festival) and Mount Stuart Trust, A kind of glamour about me, is a new two-part performance piece by pioneering feminist artist Linder, inspired by the mythical and creaturely woodlands at Mount Stuart and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. This project has been realised in collaboration with choreographer Holly Blakey, composer Maxwell Sterling and fashion designer Ashish Gupta.
A kind of glamour about me will debut at Mount Stuart on Saturday 14 June 2025 with the first performance beginning outside Mount Stuart's Main Entrance at 3pm.
The accompanying exhibition will run at Mount Stuart until 31 August, including new works drawing inspiration from Mount Stuart’s archive of family images and travel journals. Linder will subtly animate Mount Stuart's interiors through a series of ‘traces’ in the form of costumes, props and works on paper.
On Sunday 15 June at 10.30am Linder will join Director of our Contemporary Visual Arts Programme, Sophie Crichton Stuart, in conversation to discuss her work and the research that informed this exhibition.
