From apples to apple juice in the Mount Stuart gardens
We had a lovely visit from the children of Rothesay Joint Campus, St Andrew's Primary School and Apple Tree Nursery, who helped our Gardens team harvest some of our apples.
The children headed to our Community Orchard and Kitchen Garden to pick them, before bringing their harvest back to the team. They then had a go at putting the apples through the pulper, ready for our Garden Team to press the pulp and turn it into fresh apple juice.
And, of course, the best bit was getting to taste the juice straight away! There were lots of happy faces as the children enjoyed the fruits of their labours.
A big thank you to Lisa, Davy, Jude and Wills for giving their time and showing the children how to turn apples into delicious juice. It was a brilliant way to learn, get involved and enjoy what the gardens have to offer.

Our Mount Stuart apples are now ripe for picking, and we’re delighted to welcome the community to come along and help themselves - take some home to bake into a pie or make into crumble or cake.
We just politely ask that apples are only picked for personal use, with thanks. Enjoy!
