Discover Mount Stuart at a quieter pace
This August, we're introducing a new Sensory Friendly Hour as a pilot. Offering a calmer, quieter environment for visitors who benefit from reduced sensory stimulation or simply prefer a more peaceful way to explore.
Every Friday in August, from 3.00pm - 4.00pm, we'll help create a quieter atmosphere throughout the house by reducing unnecessary noise. Visitors using the Bloomberg audio guide will be asked to wear headphones, helping to maintain a calm environment for everyone.
For visitors with sensory sensitivities, this dedicated hour offers a more relaxed opportunity to enjoy the house. It also provides a different way to experience one of Scotland's most remarkable interiors - time to slow down and notice the craftsmanship, architecture and changing light that can easily be missed during a busier visit. Whether you're discovering Mount Stuart for the first time or returning as a member, we hope this quieter hour encourages a new appreciation of the house.
As this is a pilot, we're continuing to develop our sensory-friendly offer, including a portable sensory kit that will soon be available to borrow from the main entrance. As always, we welcome feedback from visitors to help shape future improvements.
