Mount Stuart Trust announces the appointment of its Rural Operations Director
Mount Stuart Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Harry Bowman as its Rural Operations Director, a new post created to replace the Factor role with expanded operational activities across all the Trust’s rural interests.
Harry has spent the last nine years working in Kenya; his current role is General Manager of Kakuzi Plc.’s Macadamia Division, a corporate agricultural company with approximately 14,000Ha growing macadamia, avocado, blueberry and forestry with 4,500 head of cattle. This operation employs 9 managers and 550 staff.
With a strong background in commercial agriculture, a B.Eng Hons. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.Sc in Agriculture and Development, Harry brings a wide range of skills and experience to the Rural Operations Director role.
The Trust’s Managing Director Colin Boag said Harry’s appointment is an exciting step in the Trust’s rural development.
“It will be vitally important that Harry, as the new Rural Operations Director, develops positive relationships with a wide range of individuals and organisations both on and off the island. Effective collaboration will be key to developing sustainable growth plans for the island’s rural economy. Harry is very excited to be joining the Trust at this pivotal stage and to lead the Trust’s rural team into 2020 and beyond. I’m sure everyone will welcome him and his family to Bute” said Colin.
Harry will be relocating to Bute with his wife and young family in September and will join the Trust later that month. His interests out of work are mountain biking, running, sailing and fly fishing.
