We are seeking a Housekeeper to join the team and support the Head of House in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation across Mount Stuart Trust properties, including Mount Stuart House self-catering accommodation, public areas, and event spaces. This role requires attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to deliver excellent service both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Housekeeping

  • Ensure all areas are kept to a consistently high standard of cleanliness and presentation
  • Clean and prepare self-catering properties, ensuring they are guest ready.
  • Maintain stock of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors, colleagues, and guests.
  • Report on maintenance issues promptly.
  • All aspects of cleaning and maintenance tasks, bins, checking heating and fuel stores etc.
  • Undertake additional reasonable tasks as required.

2. Health & Hygiene

  • Adhere to cleaning schedules and house rules.
  • Maintain high personal hygiene and follow established procedures.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Support a safe and healthy working environment.

3. Events Support

  • Assist with the preparation, delivery, and clear-up of internal and external events.
  • Provide front-of-house support as required
  • Adapt to varying event needs, working flexibly with other teams.

4. Collection Projects

  • Under direction of collections team, undertake specialist conservation cleaning and restoration tasks as required (full training will be given)

Person Specification/Essential Skills & Qualities

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Friendly, professional, and approachable manner.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including weekends on Rota, predominantly during open season April - October.

Desirable

  • Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety standards.
  • Driving licence preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Work Location: In person

Pay: £12.60 per hour
