The Kerrylamont Centre
Helping rural businesses thrive.
Situated at the southern edge of Mount Stuart’s landscaped gardens, Kerrylamont was historically the home farm of the estate. Today, we are working with local partners and stakeholders to create the Kerrylamont Centre for Rural Skills and Enterprise.
Our aim is to provide a focus for training, education, technical research, employment and business activities in the rural and heritage sectors on the west coast of Scotland. To achieve this, we’ve partnered with Historic Environment Scotland, Rural Skills Scotland, Skills Development Scotland, University of the Highlands and Islands, and the Forestry Commission.
Inspiring the rural and heritage entrepreneurs of tomorrow
We want to improve the level of skills and knowledge in the rural sector, and help people develop a greater understanding of traditional building materials and skills. From companies in cheese and slate to those in woodcraft and deer, the Trust will be scoping small rural businesses to work with us in Kerrylamont.
We’d like to promote growth in rural and heritage businesses, and spark innovation in future generations.
