The Mount Stuart Trust is a Charitable Trust founded in 1985, which works to fulfill the vision of the late John, 6th Marquess of Bute. He believed that the public should be able to enjoy Mount Stuart and its gardens and surrounding grounds, and benefit from its collections and archives. John Bute generously endowed The Mount Stuart Trust with the Bute Estate to provide the support which enables this remarkable house and stunning gardens to be preserved and opened to visitors. The Trust owns and administers Mount Stuart and the Bute Estate.
The Bute Estate
The aims of the Trust are to conserve, preserve and maintain the house, gardens and surrounding grounds for future generations, whilst facilitating public interest, understanding and appreciation of fine and decorative art, architecture and the rural environment, and to promote access, education and research.

The right candidate will work closely with the Kitchen Supervisor to ensure the smooth running of the Café. At peak times during the season, the Café can be very busy and the right candidate must be able to handle high volumes of visitors.
Bute Kitchen @ Mount Stuart requires a motivated and creative Chef to join the team for 2019. Bute Kitchen aims to showcase the very best food and drink that the Isle of Bute has to offer. You need to be a passionate foodie with relevant experience in a similar role.You will work closely with, and report to, our Head Chef to deliver a first class food experience to our visitors.
The successful candidate can expect a competitive rate of pay, free entry to the House and Gardens, meals on duty and the chance to work with some of the best produce the Estate and island has to offer.
Immediate start available. Rate of pay is dependent on experience. Hours will be dependent on the needs of the business.
Please note this position is offered on a seasonal basis until 25th October 2019. There may be an opportunity for employment out with the season depending on business growth.
