An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage the Sawmill and Forestry Department which encompasses over 1,300ha of commercial and native woodland on the island. As Sawmill and Forestry Manager you will lead a team of 5 in the day-to-day management of the department and be responsible for the development and promotion of new business campaigns. An effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills you will be responsible for the project management of an exciting development phase of an established sawmill.
You will be results-orientated and possess strong management, budgetary and IT skills, a working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and the ability to quickly build effective business relationships. With proven relevant practical experience in sawmill/forestry sectors the successful candidate will have a ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to turn a hand to a wide-range of practical operations as required. A full UK driving licence is required.

Reporting to the Head of Buildings and Facilities you will be responsible for the Security and Maintenance Team, dealing with strategic issues and the day-to-day security and maintenance issues, including special events, VIP tours and weddings.
You will have proven experience within a security related environment. Knowledge of construction is desirable.
You will have a flexible approach to work with the ability to work weekends and evenings as required.
The successful candidate must base themselves on the island and will be subjected to security clearance checks.
