Times, prices and location

We are OPEN on Easter Weekend
and then daily from 1st May through to 30th September (inclusive).

House
11am - 5pm Sunday to Friday
10am - 2.30pm Saturday only

Visitor Centre & Gardens
10am - 6pm daily

Friday August 8th, 2008 – last entry to the House will be at 2pm. Doors close 2.30pm.
Sunday 7th September 2008 – last tour of house commences at 1pm.

You can explore the house by guided tour during May, June and September.
(A system of 'free-flow' operates during July and August).

For guided tours, please arrive at the Visitor Centre fifteen minutes before your tour commences.

The last admission to the house is one hour and fifteen minutes prior to closing.

Please note: As a result of an increase in wedding and corporate business, we have to keep our admission policy flexible in order to provide the best possible customer service to both our clients and day visitors. We therefore ask visitors to contact us prior to travel in order to confirm our opening times. Thank you for your understanding.

Photography and Conservation

For reasons of conservation, photography is not allowed in the house. We ask that visitors wear sensible footwear (not high heels) to protect the floors of the house.

Dogs

No dogs allowed, except guide dogs.

"Great Days Out" Joint Ticket Promotion

Includes return train, boat and bus journeys to Mount Stuart from any travel centre within Strathclyde, as well as entry to Mount Stuart.

Cost: £19.30 per adult and £10.00 per child.

The ticket can be purchased at any First station, or on board the train.

Calmac Joint Ticket

Includes return boat and bus journeys to Mount Stuart from Wemyss Bay, as well as entry to Mount Stuart.

Cost: £14.50 per adult and £7.25 per child.

The ticket can be purchased from the Ticket Office in Wemyss Bay Ferry Terminal.

Group visits

Mount Stuart is happy to welcome groups. We are available for pre-booked group visits at most times of the year, subject to major works or events preventing us from accommodating your request. There is a concessionary rate for groups of 12 or more (£6.00 per person). We recommend that all groups contact us beforehand to let us know when they will be visiting. Winter tours are available by appointment, please call 01700 503877.

How to find us

We are approximately 50 minutes by road/rail from Glasgow/Glasgow Airport/Prestwick Airport to Wemyss Bay.

30 minutes ferry crossing: Weymss Bay to Rothesay.

We are 5 miles south of Rothesay town.

There is a spectacular scenic route via Argyll and Colintraive (ferry crossing to Rhubodach at north end of Bute).
