The Drawing Room

A myriad of themes captivate visitors in this outrageously beautiful room. The 3rd Marquess' interest in heraldry, mythology and the natural world combine to create an interior rich in detail and opulence.

Sheer exuberance and romanticism are celebrated in the Drawing Room, which boasts a fine collection of art. The beautifully crafted stained glass windows depict figures from greek mythology including the nine Muses daughters of Zeus and Erato, the muse of love poetry.

The room also features an elaborate ceiling bearing the coats of arms of the male descendants of the 2nd Earl of Bute and a notable collection of furniture, including tables by Robert Adam, which are topped with Roman mosaic.

Complete with the monumental marble fireplace and east-facing balcony, there can be few more splendid environments to celebrate your union. The Drawing Room can also be hired as an additional reception room if you hold your wedding ceremony and reception in other areas of Mount Stuart.
