The Drawing Room

A myriad of themes captivate visitors in this outrageously beautiful room. The 3rd Marquess' interest in heraldry, mythology and the natural world combine to create an interior rich in detail and opulence.

There is much for your guests to admire, including a fine collection of art featuring works by Titian, Tintoretto and Veronese. The beautifully crafted stained glass windows depict figures from Greek Mythology, including the nine Muses (daughters of Zeus) and Erato, the muse of love poetry.

Above you, the ceiling displays an elaborate family tree. Nestling among the leaves are the coats of arms of the male descendants of the 2nd Earl of Bute. The furniture too, is worthy of note, including giltwood tables by Robert Adam, which are topped with Roman mosaic.

Complete with an incredible marble fireplace and pleasant east-facing balcony, this is a splendid environment for business or pleasure. Some guests choose to use it as an additional reception room when hiring other rooms in Mount Stuart.
