Situated just off the Marble Hall, this impressive Dining Room has long been favoured for important dinners and grand banquets.
Squirrels and birds in the exquisitely carved friezes feast on nuts and insects, symbolising that this is a room for eating! Your guests can admire the outstanding collection of 18th Century portraiture that adorns the walls, including original works by Ramsay, Romney, Reynolds and Gainsborough.
The table, set for dinner, features a selection of William Burges' amusingly designed silver fish plates. Stunning chandeliers and candelabra light up the room and original 18th Century fireplaces decorate each end - said to have been removed from the original Mount Stuart house.
The Dining Room creates an exquisite and glittering ambience that is ideal for elegant dining. While not suitable for dancing, this wonderful room lends itself to evening entertainment in the form of a harpist or string quartet.
Suggested capacity:

The portrait of the 3rd Earl of Bute wearing the Order of the Thistle (1758). He was said to be extremely proud of his shapely legs and prominently displays them in this portrait!
