Mount Stuart Trust

We established Mount Stuart Trust as a charitable organisation in 1989. Our aim is to maximise the potential of Mount Stuart and its grounds for the benefit of the public.

The Trust is committed to the conservation, preservation and maintenance of the house, gardens, collections and archives. This includes conserving and maintaining other parts of the Isle of Bute that make up the Bute Estate.

We are passionate about promoting, inspiring and aiding public awareness and involvement in buildings of historic and architectural interest, the visual and decorative arts, botany, science and the rural environment.

Under the direction of our board of directors, we are constantly looking for new ways to share this incredible living legacy. A large part of this work involves utilising Mount Stuart as an inclusive educational resource for children and adults of all ages.

Charity number: SC009584.
